The group possesses an enormous arsenal of the most exceptional percussion instruments, in particular the extensive collection of authentic drums from Japan. Some of these measure nearly two metres across.

• Japanese - maybe?

In the last 35 years Circle Percussion has really come into its own in the percussion business. For years the ensemble has been a trend-setter in a large variety of percussion concepts, but it is lord and master in the art of Japanese drumming – essentially different from western playing styles. During a performance the physical qualities and the stamina of the drummers are tested to the utmost.

Circle Percussion has performed world-wide, at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, but also at many festivals in New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, London, Seville, Israel, South Africa, etc.

At Extasia ’97 (Japan) Circle Percussion (collaborating with Taiko-trio ‘Honoo Daiko’) was one of the absolute highlights of the evening. Circle has performed with many great percussion groups, including KODO.
